About Cyprus

The island of Cyprus lies west of Syria and south of Turkey and boasts an incredible climate with over 330 days of sun every year. With over 9000 years of history, you are never short of things to do and places to see.

Limassol, on the south of the island, is the main business centre of Cyprus and is packed with shops, offices and lots of culture, including the ancient Kourion Amphitheatre.

Paphos, on the west coast, is the main historical centre of the island and home to some of the most important archaeological sites, including the Tombs of the Kings and the famous mosaics.

Larnaca, on the south coast is situated between Ayia Napa and Limassol and is home to one of the island's international airports. Flamingoes and swans have also made their home here in the Salt Lake, close to the airport.

Ayia Napa/Protaras/Paralimni are famous for their long sandy beaches and bustling nightlife, making it ideal for the younger generation.

Nicosia, the island's capital and only divided capital in the world, is an inland town with hot, dry summers. The cosmopolitan centre is packed with trendy shops and modern coffee bars, yet stll close to the 'old' Nicosia. The green line has divided the city since the Turkish invasion of 1974, and many of the old venetian walls built to protect the city from invaders, still exist today.
