Since joining the EU, restrictions have been lifted regarding the amount of land which can be bought; therefore any European citizen can purchase as much land as they wish in Cyprus .

Any European citizen can establish and own a business 100% in Cyprus and the property bought can be registered as a holiday home of the Directors of the company.

Now Cyprus is a full member of the EU, non related European citizens can register a property in Cyprus , in joint names.

Before Cyprus entered the EU, European citizens could only register one property in their name. Since joining the EU, there are no restrictions on the amount of properties which can be registered in one name, providing the buyers obtain a temporary permit and by signing a document to say they will stay in Cyprus for 5 years. This permit is easily obtained.
