Drymou
Drymou has a population of just 120, including the 6 non-Cypriot families that live there. Only 14km from Polis and 32km from Paphos, Drymou is located 520m above sea level and also suffers little of no humidity. With forests stretching all the way to Troodos, Drymou offers spectacular mountain views and great sea views in the other direction. There are no supermarkets, restaurants or tavernas in the village, but there are two coffee shops which also sell provisions you would expect to buy in a kiosk. The Church of Agios Sotirios, built in the early 1800’s is worth seeing along with the pool that the locals built years ago, to collect the spring water that was trickling down from the Troodos Mountains. The residents used this as drinking water as well as for washing their clothes, although nowadays the village enjoys a mains water supply. |
