The amount required as a deposit for a mortgage depends on your place of residency. If you live in Cyprus it is possible to arrange a 90% mortgage, however, if you live in another EU country the minimum deposit is 20% and often even 30%. For non-EU residents the minimum deposit is 30%.

Although all banks charge arrangement fees, they differ from bank to bank, so please remember to check. The normal charges are between 0.75% and 1.0% of the mortgage amount.

Usual repayment terms are 10 years although 15 years is also available, and occasionally longer repayment terms can be obtained. In order to qualify for a mortgage, you must be able to prove that you have sufficient funds to service your property, and the property must be of a suitable nature.
