Pissouri
Only half an hour’s drive from both Paphos and Limassol, Pissouri is a village which has managed to successfully welcome tourism yet still retains it charm and traditional character. Famous for grape growing, the village hosts a variety of restaurants, tavernas and bars, where you can sample the local wine.
Pissouri Village has a lovely centre with a village square which is filled with flowers and is pedestrianised. There is a Greek Orthodox church, a good bakery, post office, banks, small supermarkets along with several family-run tavernas and restaurants all serving excellent fresh food at good prices. During summer, the village has a Cyprus Night in the square every Wednesday evening. There's food and traditional Cypriot dancing; and everyone is welcome! |
